Community Development Districts
A Community Development Districts (CDD) is a local, special-purpose government framework authorized by Chapter 190 of the Florida Statutes, for purposes of financing, constructing, operating, and maintaining community-wide infrastructure, improvements, and services for the benefit of the properties within its boundaries.
A special district is a unit of local government authorized by Chapter 189 of the Florida Statutes, for a special purpose, as opposed to a general-purpose, which has jurisdiction to operate within a limited geographic boundary and is created by general law, special act, local ordinance, or by rule of the Governor and Cabinet.
Established Community Development Districts Report Overview
There are currently twenty-nine (29) Community Development Districts within the "Unincorporated" area of Collier County Florida. Three (3) CDDs were previously approved for Dissolution, 2008 (Copper Cove), 2009 (Artesia Naples), 2015 (Parklands-Collier).
