Inspection Process:
Private Provider Inspection Reports must be filled out completely and signed by the private provider or duly authorized representative.
In accordance with F.S. 553.791(9), private providers performing required inspections shall provide notice to the local building official, such notice will be given by the private provider scheduling the inspection date via the GMCDD portal or phone scheduling system at least the day before the inspection is to be performed.
In accordance with F.S. 553.791(11), the private provider shall report the results to the building official. Inspection reports will now be uploaded to the Private Provider Inspection condition on the GMCDD portal within 2 business days of performed inspection. Reports must be completely filled out and signed either with a written or electronic signature.
a. Any required inspection affidavits are required to be uploaded with inspection report: re-roof, solar, etc.
b. If partial inspections were performed, they should be provided at a minimum of one per floor. Do not provide a PASS report until all the inspections of that type are complete.
c. If inspector notes required revision, a CO hold may be placed on the permit until the revision has been approved. Revisions shall be provided when deemed required, not at the completion of the project.
Document required after all inspections and before Certificate of Occupancy:
Private Provider Certificate of Compliance (request for certificate of occupancy) must be filled out completely, digitally signed or notarized. All required inspections must be completed prior to submitting the COC.
In accordance with F.S. 553.791(12), upon completion of all required inspections, the private provider shall prepare and upload a certificate of compliance. The provided Certificate of Compliance will no longer need to be a complete package. Only the Collier County Certificate of Compliance form, digitally signed or notarized, will be required to be submitted to the Private Provider COC on the GMCDD portal. You do not need to resubmit all of the reports. Do not upload your COC until all inspections have been recorded.
