Mission Statement:

The Housing Policy & Economic Division is responsible for supporting and administering policy direction of the Board of County Commissioners related to the administration and implementation of the Collier County Growth Management Plan.

The Housing Policy & Economic Division implements Collier County’s goal to create an adequate supply of decent, safe, and attainable housing for all residents of Collier County, as well as develops activities that will assist Collier County in the creation of jobs and new businesses. The Housing Policy & Economic Division works to collaborate with local partners to provide comprehensive economic development to retain, expand, and attract talent development services to all of Collier County.

Division Duties & Background:

The Housing Policy & Economic Division works collaboratively with developers, businesses, non-profit groups, governmental agencies, and public-private coalitions to coordinate activities and effectively leverage resources available to the community to increase the supply of affordable housing and economic opportunities countywide. The Housing Policy & Economic Division can facilitate introductions to key government, education, and private partners at the local and state levels. The Division oversees and contributes to the development needs of the community through special studies, neighborhood, business community interactions, and advisory boards to then propose recommendations on amendments to the Collier County Growth Management Plan (GMP), and policies of the County Board of County Commissioners based upon the results of the various studies and community planning efforts.
