Transportation Management Services Department Head Trinity Scott has been working with Collier County since 2001, starting her career with the Collier Metropolitan Planning Organization. Ms. Scott has worked in a variety of Collier County, Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), and private sector positions in the transportation field, including FDOT District One Community Liaison in coordination with six southwest Florida counties (Glades, Hendry, Desoto, Charlotte, Lee and Collier), Collier County Transportation Engineering Project Manager handling bicycle/pedestrian project planning design and construction and planning technician positions with CH2MHill, RWA, Inc., and Collier County Transportation Development Review
While much of her time has been spent in planning, Ms. Scott has also led projects from planning through actual construction. She began serving as Collier Area Transit (CAT) Manager in November of 2012, and was awarded the 2014 Transit System of the Year Award by the Florida Public Transit Association. In April 2015, she was offered and accepted the position of Transportation Planning Manager in the Capital Project Planning, Impact Fees & Program Management Division, where Ms. Scott and her staff were responsible for addressing the primary needs for major transportation improvements including corridor evaluation studies, land use, concurrency management, development review, long range transportation planning, traffic count analysis, traffic calming, as well as bicycle & pedestrian. Ms. Scott and the Transportation Planning Section staff coordinated closely with the Collier Metropolitan Planning Organization, and were responsible for coordinating and reviewing developer agreements, as well as development and maintenance of the Transportation Capital Improvement Program within unincorporated Collier County. Under her direction, the Transportation Planning Section recently spearheaded a grant application which secured over $13 million of federal discretionary Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) funding for multi-modal improvements in Immokalee.
In her current role as Transportation Management Services Department Head over Capital Planning, Construction, and Maintenance, Ms. Scott oversees more than 175 full-time employees and a $50 million operating budget and $130 million capital budget. She leads a diverse organization with responsibilities that include: the Airport Authority, comprised of three airports; Operations Support; Public Transit & Neighborhood Enhancement (PTNE); Road and Bridge Maintenance; Roadway Landscaping; Traffic Operations; Transportation Engineering; Coastal Zone Management; Capital Projects; Stormwater Management, and Pollution Control and Prevention.
Ms. Scott is a Certified Public Transit Manager through the University of South Florida, a Certified Intermodal Transportation & Logistics Manager from Florida Southwestern State College (FSW), received an Associates in Arts degree from FSW, and is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Management & Supervision from FSW.
