Request a Zoning Verification Letter
Are you trying to find out the zoning designation or regulations for your property? Collier County is happy to provide a written letter outlining your requested information to help buyers, sellers, and business owners achieve their goals.
Step 1. Determine the Property is in Collier County
You may conduct a property search in the Zoning GIS Map tool. If the property does not generate a result, it is not within the Collier County limits.

Step 2. Determine What You Want in the Letter
Zoning verification letters can include various pieces of information. Proper selection(s) with appropriate documents will speed up the process. You may request verification, such as but not limited to:
Step 3. Review the Process
The Administrative Code outlines the information you need to provide to request a Zoning Verification Letter, such as but not limited to:
- Address of the parcel
- Property identification number
- Type of verification being requested
Step 4. Request your Zoning Verification Letter
Submit your application to the GMCD Public Portal.
- Each request carries a fee of $100 and includes up to one hour of research. Additional research will require additional fees.
Step 5. We Review Your Request
An email response will notify you that your application is being reviewed. Accompanying the email will be a receipt for payments and a tracking number assigned to the application (i.e., PLXXXXXXXXXX). You can use the tracking number to follow the project in the GMCD Portal. The zoning letter will be sent via email in twenty (20) business days. If information is missing from your application, you will be contacted by phone or email.
