FEMA's Hazard Mitigation Assistance grant programs provide funding for eligible mitigation activities that reduce disaster losses and protect life and property from future natural disasters. The funds may be applied for by state, tribal, or local governments. Individual homeowners are not eligible to apply, but their local government can apply on their behalf.  Currently, FEMA administers the following three grant programs:

Flood Mitigation Assistance
Hazard Mitigation Grant Program
Pre-Disaster Mitigation

To initiate any action for the development of a grant application, the proposed project must first be on the County’s approved mitigation project list. This mitigation project list is prepared by the Local Mitigation Strategy Workgroup as a part of the implementation of the County’s Local Mitigation Strategy (LMS). For more information on the LMS, please visit the Collier County Emergency Management Department or contact William.Lang@colliercountyfl.gov or at (239) 252-1070

For assistance: Contact the Flood Information Hotline at (239) 252-2942
