IRRIGATION STANDARDS
On April 28, 2015, the Collier County Board of County Commissioners adopted Ordinance 2015-27 that provides the standards for landscape irrigation in the county. Landscape irrigation rules apply to all sources of water including private wells and ponds.
Odd numbered addresses may water their lawns three days a week on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday before 10 a.m. and after 4 p.m.
Even numbered addresses** may water their lawns three days a week on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday before 10 a.m. and after 4 p.m.
** Includes even and odd addresses in the same irrigation zone such as multi-family, HOA and common areas with no address.
No irrigating is permitted on Fridays.
No irrigating is permitted between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Any plant material may be watered using low volume irrigation, micro-irrigation, rain barrels, cisterns or other similar rain harvesting devices without regard to the watering days and times allowed.
All automatic irrigation systems must be equipped with a properly-installed rain sensor switch.
The provisions of this Ordinance [2015-27] apply to each user within the boundaries of the unincorporated areas of Collier County, Florida, and applies to all water resources as defined herein, unless otherwise specifically addressed through an agreement or issuance of a variance. “Water Resources” means all water on or beneath the surface of the ground including, but not limited to, potable water production wells, IQ water, natural or artificial watercourses, lakes, ponds and artificial water features, and water percolating, standing or flowing beneath the surface of the ground.
