The Collier County Water Sewer District supplies water to approximately 85,000 connections serving 225,000 people in unincorporated Collier County. The district operates two award-winning water treatment plants. 

The mission of the Collier County Water Division is to deliver best value, high quality and sustainable water services that meet our customers' expectations in an operationally excellent environment.

Collier County Public Utilities estimates that the average person in the utility's service area uses 130 gallons of water per day. About half of this water is used to irrigate lawns. The South Florida Water Management District estimates that more than 50% of irrigation water is lost to evaporation and run-off because of over watering.

In 2023, customers used approximately 30 million gallons per day.  That’s 11 billion gallons for the year. If everyone in the Collier County Public Utilities service area reduced their water use by 10%, the county would save 3 million gallons of water per day and more than 1 billion gallons in a year.

Following the decision of the governing body of the Collier County Water Sewer District, the addition of fluoride to the public potable water supply was discontinued at 1 p.m. on February 13, 2024.

Customer Alert
Residents should be vigilant of people impersonating Collier County employees. There have been reports of people asking to enter homes under the guise of checking the water supply. They are using a phone number associated with a scam in which utility customers are asked for payment.
Collier County employees will not ask to enter a customer’s home.
Employees wear a uniform, carry a Collier County-issued employee identification card and drive a white truck with the Collier County logo on the side.
Residents are advised to exercise caution and report any suspicious criminal activity to the Collier County Sherriff’s office.
