Real Estate Appraising
Florida Statues require that all real estate and interests be appraised by an independent appraiser prior to being purchased by Collier County. Real estate valued $2,500,000 and greater requires two appraisals prepared by independent appraisers.
The Board of County Commissioners can waive the requirement for an independent appraisal on real estate valued less than $1 million. When waived, the staff real estate appraiser will prepare an appraisal.
If you have questions regarding appraisal services, please email Roosevelt.Leonard@colliercountyfl.gov
Property Leasing, Sales and Acquisition
Leasing activities for Collier County include the leasing of improved and unimproved property for legislative use, recreational purposes, cellular towers and on occasion not-for-profit organizations.
Property acquisition secures land rights necessary for the construction of Collier County infrastructure and supporting facilities. A few examples are right-of-ways for water, sewer and reclaimed water lines. Sites include parks, libraries, EMS, water and wastewater treatment plants, wells, solid waste disposal facilities and administrative offices. In addition to negotiation services, personnel prepare and verify legal descriptions, documents, title research and transaction charges.
Land and land rights for roads and storm water drainage are secured by the Transportation Division’s right-of-way. All inquiries in that regard should be emailed to Robert.Bosch@colliercountyfl.gov.
Property Sales
Real estate brokers or individual owners with parcels 50 acres or larger for sale are encouraged to email the county with details. Collier County may be interested in purchasing these properties for governmental use.
If you have questions regarding property sales, please email Jennifer.Belpedio@colliercountyfl.gov
