Legal Requirements for Background Checks

Collier County Ordinance No. 2004-52, authorizes criminal history record checks to be conducted by Facilities Management Division in accordance with Section 125.5801, Florida Statutes (2006). Fingerprints and background checks are required for all contractors entering a county building or working in a secure location. Any questions regarding the legal requirements can be addressed to the Facilities Management Division using the contact details below. 

 

Scheduling for Fingerprints

The Facilities Management Division is available 24/7 to complete fingerprinting. Fingerprinting will be completed at the Facilities Management Division see below for location details.

To help reduce wait times, the Facilities Management Division asks that you please schedule an appointment. Walk-ins are always welcome; however, the Facilities Management Division cannot guarantee timely service without a pre-scheduled appointment.

 

Items to Bring

To ensure the Facilities Management Division can properly process your fingerprints, please bring the following item(s):

One (1) Valid U.S. or State issued government identification card (required). The acceptable types of identification include:

  • Driver’s License
  • Passport
  • Resident Alien Card
  • State Identification Card
  • School Identification Card (only allowed for applicants under the age of 18)

Additionally, the Facilities Management Division recommends bringing your Social Security Card.

 

Accepted Payment Methods

As of February 1, 2015, the cost of fingerprinting includes, but is not limited to contractors, vendors, interns, volunteers, etc. is $40.00.

Please note that the Facilities Management Division only accepts EXACT CASH or CHECK/MONEY ORDER made out to "BCC".
