Stop The Bleed: Lely High School 03/01/22-03/03/22
Two of our Collier EMS training captains (Captain Maro and Captain Allen) taught a three-day Stop The Bleed Course to the Lely High School JROTC students! This course taught a variety of skills/lessons consisting of tourniquet application, wound packing, CPR, and much more. Pictured here are the students participating in various activities throughout the course.
The purpose of the Stop The Bleed campaign is to build national resilience against preventable deaths in traumatic events. To better prepare the public to save lives, we can teach awareness of basic actions to stop life-threatening bleeding following everyday emergencies and man-made or natural disasters.
We would like to thank not only our Collier EMS Training Captains for helping to educate students on these invaluable techniques, but to the Lely High School JROTC program for allowing us to teach them over the three-day period. Great job to all students involved!

CCEMS Tactical Testing
Recently, the Collier County EMS Tactical Team held an entrance exam for new members. These candidates have to pass a rigorous testing process that involves swim skills, a written protocol-based test, panel interview, NTOA SWAT physical standards, and a high intensity scenario meant to simulate working in a "hot zone."
These candidates train for months to prepare and endure a long day of entrance testing. Our tactical medics maintain high quality standards in their testing and training to deliver the best care to the Collier County Sheriff's Department and community. Congrats to the candidates that passed the entrance exam and good luck in the Tactical Emergency Medical Support (TEMS) course!
