There are no immediate plans to build a library in the Northeastern area of Collier County.

With regard to speeding in Ave Maria.  The roadways within Ave Maria are not under the jurisdiction of Collier County.  If the residents are interested in a neighborhood traffic management program, they can review the County policy (https://www.colliercountyfl.gov/home/showpublisheddocument/86805/637467368019200000) that we utilize for County maintained roadways, which consists of:

1. Completing a traffic study
2. If certain thresholds are met, education efforts would comments
3. Complete an additional traffic study, comparing the results to the initial findings.
4. If education efforts are sufficient, the community would continue with those.  If there were not successful, enforcement (partnering with the CCSO) and continuing educational efforts would be undertaken.
5. Complete a traffic study, comparing the results to the initial findings and the second traffic study.
6. If those items addressed the issue, they would continue those efforts.  If not, they could then pursue an engineering solution (roundabouts, speed tables, your speed is signs, etc.).  Any of those items would require appropriate permitting through Growth Management – Community Development.

It is recommended the community work with a traffic engineer to help them collect data to determine if there is a documented speeding issue. 

Lt. Joe Ellis of the Collier County Sheriff’s Office oversees the District 8 Substation, which encompasses Immokalee and Ave Maria.

"We have at least one deputy per shift assigned to our Ave Maria zone. There are some days/nights where we may have two deputies assigned to the Ave Maria zone.  In addition, we have two offices within the Ave Maria Fire Station on Useppa Drive. These offices are occupied by one of our Crime Prevention Deputies and one of our Community Policing Deputies. Further, we have a civilian deputy at the front desk (Mon-Fri; 8am-4pm) that can take walk-in reports or contact the deputy patrolling the Ave Maria zone for anything additional needed."

From NCH’s  Executive Director of Corporate Real Estate & Construction :

Within 12 months after our Immediate Care Facility opens for business (anticipated 1^st quarter 2024), we will close on the initial 5-acre hospital site parcel, and then construct a Freestanding ED within 24 months of closing (which puts us at 1^st quarter 2027). An Outpatient Medical Facility will follow (including Imaging and Ambulatory Surgery), followed by the phasing-in of the hospital as market dictates.  The overall hospital master planning has not taken place yet but will include a look at all potential services that the area may support.
