It's time to celebrate the first 100 years of Collier County. Founded on May 8, 1923, our subtropical coastal county has matured into a world-class community known for stunning coastal scenery, pristine white sandy beaches, the Everglades, shopping, dining, and an excellent quality of life for our roughly 400,000 permanent residents.
Celebrate Collier County's Centennial on Monday, May 8, at 10:00 a.m. on the steps of the Everglades City Hall located at 102 Copeland Avenue, Everglades City, Florida.
Everglades City and the historic Everglades City Hall proudly served as the original county seat and courthouse for decades until Hurricane Donna devastated the area and the county seat relocated in 1961.
This brief outdoor ceremony will showcase our intriguing history and provide information about our remarkable challenges and achievements throughout the last century.
