Tour the Facility
The Collier County Medical Examiner Facility, inaugurated March 19, 1998, is named the David A. Engstrand, M.D. Memorial Facility. Dr. Engstrand was Collier County's Chief Medical Examiner from 1988 until his death in 1991.
The facility is comprised of three separate buildings each designed to resolve the three major problems that face all medical examiner offices: odor control, lighting and storage. This facility was designed to address these concerns and to handle our county's swelling growth rate. Overall, the building is functional, flexible, energy-efficient and aesthetically pleasing.
