LECC - Operational Area 9 (Collier, Lee, Charlotte, Glades & Hendry Counties)

The Operational Area Committees are responsible for:
a. Overseeing the Operational Area Emergency Alert System.
b. Developing and maintaining operational area plans.
c. Promoting the EAS with local Emergency Management Programs and Broadcasters.
d. Participating with the State Emergency Communications Committee.
e. Orientating the public to the EAS program.

The LECC OA 9 Committee has two Co-Chairs.  One is from the emergency management community and the other is from the broadcasting community.  At the November 13, 2015 meeting in the Collier County Emergency Operations Center, the following were elected:

Co-Chair (Emergency Management) - Rick Zyvoloski, Collier Co. Emergency Management
Co-Chair (Broadcasting) - Kevin Trueblood, WGCU-FM

Presentation by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC)
Presentation about IPAWS (Integrated Public Alert & Warning System). This program will make direct Emergency Management office input to the EAS system.
