County Barn Road Pathway Project Public Information Meeting

Thursday, March 9, 2023

5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Collier County Transportation Management Services Department staff are planning an open house style public information meeting on March 9 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on the design of a project to add a 10-foot-wide shared use pathway on the west side of County Barn Road that extends approximately two miles from Rattlesnake Hammock Road to Davis Blvd.  The meeting will be held at Mayflower Congregational United Church of Christ, 2900 County Barn Road, Naples, FL  34112.  Residents, business representatives and visitors are welcome to stop by to review the project displays detailing the proposed project and talk one-on-one with county staff and the county’s design consultants.

The design is 60 percent completed and the county is seeking input on the project that is planned to provide a safer way for pedestrians and bicyclists to travel.  Construction is anticipated to start in the fall of 2024 with completion about 12 months later. The Florida Dept. of Transportation is contributing grant funds for design (approximately $176,000), engineering inspection as well as construction (more than $1.8 million). The estimated construction cost is approximately $2.5 million.

Two or more members of the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) may be present and participate at this meeting. The subject matter of this meeting may be an item for discussion and action at a future BCC meeting.

Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or other reasonable accommodations to participate in this proceeding, should contact the Collier County Facilities Management Division located at 3335 Tamiami Trail E., Suite 101, Naples, Florida 34112, or 239-252-8380 as soon as possible, but no later than 48 hours before the scheduled event. Such reasonable accommodations will be provided at no cost to the individual.
