This ROAD ALERT was prepared by the Collier County Transportation Services Division to inform the community about scheduled road construction and road maintenance projects along major roadways in Collier County where lane closures are planned or traffic flow may be affected.
COLLIER COUNTY CONSTRUCTION/ MAINTENANCE PROJECTS:
Collier Boulevard between Davis Boulevard and U.S. 41 – The median crossover at Cedar Hammock Boulevard has been CLOSED and will remain closed for approximately one month. Drivers may proceed to the subsequent median crossover or signalized intersection to make a U-turn. Furthermore, Lone Creek Drive and Sequoia Drive have been CLOSED TO TRAFFIC and will remain closed for approximately three months as crews install underground utilities. Businesses located on these streets will continue to be accessible via Sierra Meadows Boulevard. The speed limit throughout the project has been reduced to 45 MPH. Electronic message boards, lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades will be used to assist motorists traveling through the area.
Collier Boulevard between Immokalee Road and Golden Gate Boulevard – On Collier Boulevard between Immokalee Road and Golden Gate Boulevard expect traffic both northbound and southbound to continue to be diverted from three lanes to two lanes, intermittently, for approximately one week, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting, as crews complete work on this section of the Collier Boulevard Improvement Project. Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades will be used to assist motorists traveling through the area.
Goodlette-Frank Road at the Intersection of Vanderbilt Beach Road – On Goodlette-Frank Road at the intersection of Vanderbilt Beach Road expect intermittent lane closures in all directions for approximately one week from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting, as crews paint traffic signal mast arms. Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades will be used to assist motorists traveling through the area.
Immokalee Road at the Intersection of Collier Boulevard – On Immokalee Road at the intersection of Collier Boulevard expect intermittent lane closures in all directions for approximately one month from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting, as crews install a new traffic signal. Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades will be used to assist motorists traveling through the area.
Livingston Road at the Intersection of Osceola Trail – On Livingston Road at the intersection of Osceola Trail expect intermittent lane closures in all directions for approximately two weeks from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting, as crews paint traffic signal mast arms. Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades will be used to assist motorists traveling through the area.
Radio Road between Briarwood Boulevard and Sherbrook Drive – On Radio Road between Briarwood Boulevard and Sherbrook Drive expect eastbound and westbound traffic to continue to be diverted from two lanes to one lane in each direction for approximately three weeks from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting, as crews make improvements to the median. Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades will be used to assist motorists traveling through the area.
Santa Barbara Boulevard Widening Project – On Santa Barbara Boulevard between Davis Boulevard and Coronado Parkway expect traffic to continue to be diverted from two lanes to one lane intermittently in short segments, both northbound and southbound, for approximately two months from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, and on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., weather permitting, as crews perform road construction work. In addition, expect intermittent, temporary lane closures, night work, detours, median closures and intersection traffic stoppages throughout the limits of the project for approximately six months. The project limits are on Santa Barbara Boulevard from Davis Boulevard to Copper Leaf Lane, on Radio Road from Santa Barbara Boulevard to Davis Boulevard and the Logan Boulevard/Pine Ridge Road intersection. Flagmen, lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades will be used to assist motorists traveling through these areas. MOTORISTS WHO DO NOT HAVE A DESTINATION IN THESE LOCATIONS MAY WANT TO TAKE AN ALTERNATE ROUTE.
Vanderbilt Beach Road Widening Project – On Vanderbilt Beach Road between Livingston Road and Collier Boulevard expect intermittent lane closures to continue both eastbound and westbound from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting, for approximately two weeks as crews do median modifications, clean up and perform signal inspections. Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades will be used to assist motorists traveling through the area.
Whitaker Road between Sunset Boulevard and Shedden Lane – Whitaker Road between Sunset Boulevard and Shedden Lane will remain CLOSED for approximately one week as FPL crews install electric power poles as part of the Santa Barbara Boulevard Extension Construction Project. Advance warning signs, detour signs and barricades will be used to assist motorists traveling through the area.
